The Yoknapatawpha Arts Council announces Madalyn Huey as the new Events & Sponsorships Coordinator. Madalyn joins the team with a robust background in marketing, communications, and event planning, and is poised to bring a fresh perspective and innovative ideas to the Council.
Madalyn recently graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Master of Science in Integrated Marketing and Communications. Throughout her academic and professional career, she has demonstrated exceptional skills in promoting job opportunities for students, coordinating large-scale events, creating compelling content, and managing social media platforms.
“My experience includes promoting job opportunities for students, event coordination, content creation, and social media management. I am dedicated to developing engaging marketing campaigns and using my skills to drive success in a variety of roles,” Madalyn said.
During her time at the University of Mississippi Career Center, Madalyn successfully implemented strategic event marketing initiatives, which resulted in a 40% increase in attendance at career fairs and heightened utilization of Career Center services. She also played a crucial role in planning and executing career fairs, managing social media networks, and communicating with employers to advertise job opportunities for students.
In addition to her work at the Career Center, Madalyn served as the Public Relations Director for the IMC Connect! Conference at the School of Journalism and New Media. She adeptly managed the event app Whova, coordinated logistics, recruited over $10,000 in sponsorships, and created visually appealing promotional materials.
Madalyn’s other notable roles include her time as a Marketing Assistant for the Ed and Becky Meek Foundation, where she assisted in event planning and content creation for social media and email campaigns.
“Whether it’s developing a new marketing campaign, creating engaging social media content, or
planning an unforgettable event, I am always looking for new and exciting ways to make an impact,” Madalyn added. “I believe that a great marketing campaign is not only effective but also memorable, and I strive to create experiences that resonate with audiences long after they’re over.”
