GRAMMY® nominees Christone “Kingfish” Ingram and Southern Avenue will be celebrated at the GRAMMY® Week event.
GRAMMY Museum Mississippi® will host the 11th anniversary of Mississippi Night—its annual GRAMMY® Week event—on Tuesday, January 21, inside the Sanders Soundstage at GRAMMY Museum Mississippi in Cleveland, Mississippi. The evening will celebrate current GRAMMY nominees, Mississippi-born blues guitarist and singer Christone “Kingfish” Ingram and five-piece blues/soul group Southern Avenue and precedes the 62nd GRAMMY Awards® ceremony on Sunday, January 26.
“After several years of hosting Mississippi Night at our sister GRAMMY Museum in Los Angeles, we are thrilled to bring our flagship GRAMMY Week event back to Cleveland,” said Emily Havens, Executive Director of GRAMMY Museum Mississippi. “We’re looking forward to celebrating the important impact that the state of Mississippi has made on the American music landscape, while applauding our numerous GRAMMY nominees from the past and present.”
Featuring Master of Ceremonies Ward Emling, Director of the Mississippi Film Office, the 11th annual Mississippi Night will begin with a reception including hors d’oeuvres, libations, and the opportunity for guests to tour the Museum exhibits. The evening will conclude with conversations with and performances by Ingram and Southern Avenue, as well as the DMI All Stars, a select group of musicians from Delta State University’s Delta Music Institute.
Mississippi Night begins at 6 pm, and tickets are $50 and can be purchased at GRAMMYMuseumMS.org. All ticketholders will receive a commemorative 62nd GRAMMY Awards program book and poster.
Since 2010, GRAMMY Museum Mississippi has celebrated Mississippi’s contributions to American music with Mississippi Night in the week leading up to the annual GRAMMY Awards. This year marks the event’s return to Mississippi after years of being hosted at its sister museum in Los Angeles.
