The vehicle stopped at Rascal’s Gas Station at the intersection of Highway 7 South and Belk Boulevard.
Deputies approached the vehicle and spoke with the driver identified as Antonio Mendez and the passenger identified as Briane Kreston.
Due to the vehicle showing on License Plate Readers for Ms. Kreston having an active Circuit Court Warrant with Desoto County, Deputies advised Ms. Kreston to step out of the vehicle. Ms. Kreston stepped out and Mr. Mendez took off from the traffic stop.
Deputies pursued the vehicle down Hwy. 7 South. The Oxford Police Department was working a traffic accident that had happened and the pursuit went through the middle of the accident. The vehicle later stopped on the shoulder and Mr. Mendez fled on foot.
