GRAMMY Museum® Mississippi has announced a slate of special programming to celebrate Black History Month in February 2025. The month of events will feature special screenings of films including Cinderella, If Beale Street Could Talk and Black Panther, An Evening With David Porter, plus free admission to the Mississippi Museum on select weekend days.
“We are thrilled to announce we will once again celebrate Black History Month with a slate of special screenings, events, and free admission at GRAMMY Museum Mississippi,” said Emily Havens, Executive Director of GRAMMY Museum Mississippi. “We’d like to once again thank our dedicated sponsor the Nissan Foundation for their support in making this month-long celebration happen, along with our additional sponsors Visit Mississippi and Mississippi Arts Commission.”

A full programming schedule for Black History Month is below. All film screenings are free, and RSVP is not required.

1 pm: Screening of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s 1997 film Cinderella starring Whitney Houston as the Fairy Godmother and Brandy in the title role

Thursday, Feb. 13
An Evening With David Porter: Tickets are $20 for GRAMMY Museum Members and $25 for non-members. Reception starts at 6 p.m. followed by the program at 7 p.m.
Saturday, Feb. 15

1 pm: Screening of 2018’s If Beale Street Could Talk based on James Baldwin’s 1974 novel
