The Chancellor’s House is nearing its opening and rolling out some luxury items to go with it. Yesterday a Steinway and Sons Spirio High-Resolution Piano was delivered. Steinway and Sons is a top of the line piano manufacturer with over 150 years of experience from Manhatten, New York.
The Chancellor’s House is a luxury, boutique hotel set to open in the next few weeks on the corner of South Lamar and University. The Chancellor’s House will feature a combination of 31 rooms and suites and countless other amenities.
The Spirio is the first new model that Steinway has unveiled in almost 70 years. It is few of its kind, a grand piano that can play itself. The mechanical system that plays the notes is all done acoustically, controlled by an iPad linked by Bluetooth. The Spirio is nestled in-between the check-in desk and the bar for all patrons to hear.
The Spiro in the Chancellor’s House is the first of its kind to be sold to a commercial business. All others have been sold privately.
“We’re Trying to expand our market,” said Michael Cabe, the Marketing Implementation Manager and Spirio Operating Trainer.
Cabe is also a classically trained pianist that also appears on the Spirio’s catalogue of available music.
The top of the line technology has a collection of Steinway and Sons artist with new and classic hits. The large number of themes that are included give hours of playlist for whatever type of party you can think of.
“The Chancellor’s House hopes to treat its patrons to an afternoon with Mozart or lunch with Liberace,” said Amanda Brown-Olmstead of A. Brown-Olmstead Associates.
