Proud Larry’s in Oxford, Mississippi is hosting a fundraiser on Thursday, December 28, for 18-year-old Ole Miss freshman and Oxford High School graduate, Malcom Gooch.
Gooch was diagnosed with Stage 4 Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in October after his family began noticing significant changes in his appetite and weight loss.
After his diagnosis he had to withdraw from school due to the urgency of his treatment needs. He is currently receiving chemotherapy at St. Jude in Memphis, Tennessee. Both of his parents, Tim Gooch and Lainy Day, are employees at Ole Miss and reside in Oxford.
According to the Family’s GoFundMe page, “St. Jude has been incredible, but the expenses incurred before getting there were great, and many expenses one might not consider in this situation continue to grow. As you can imagine, this family is experiencing a very difficult season in their lives.”
The vinyl-only disc jockey collective Vinyl Vipers will be the night’s entertainment on December 28. Vinyl Vipers was formed earlier this year by musicians Bradley Gordon and Nate Robbins to raise money for good causes.
