On Saturday, September 7, 2019, at approximately 2:15 pm, the Oxford Police Department and the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department responded to under the bridge at the Yocona River on Highway 7 South for a person who was deceased.
The deceased has been identified as Homer Myers by family members.
Mr. Myers was collected by the Lafayette County Coroner’s Office to be taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Officer in Jackson, Mississippi for an autopsy.
More information will be released after the autopsy has been conducted.
