Batesville Springfest 2016 is rolling back around on May 13 and 14. The festival, similar to Oxford’s Double Decker Festival, has no fee for admission.
This year’s Springfest features two days of music. Friday is set to have Honky Tonk Heroes starting at 7 pm, followed by Oxford All-Stars Band at 8:30 pm. Saturday will bring a day long line up starting at 1:30 pm with Austin Smith & Company and closing out with Craig Morgan at 9 pm.
Oxford regulars playing the festival include popular cover band Whiskey Barrels and the Tyler Keith lead four-piece Teardrop City.
In addition to music, Springfest also offers entertainment for all ages. The Mississippi Cornhole Classic will take place on May 14. There is a $60 entry fee with a first-place prize of $900, second and third place receive $450 and $150 respectively.
Beginning at 8 am on May 14 will be the Racing for Paws 5k run. The Starting line and packet pick up will be at the Batesville First United Methodist Church on Panola Avenue. The finish line is also set on Panola Avenue and the awards ceremony will be held at Gazeebo on the Square as always.
The Junior Auxiliary Kids Corner has a slew of activities to keep the little ones buy. Attractions include an inflatable obstacle course & slide, rock wall, bungee jumper, and touch a truck.
Batesville Springfest is presented by Batesville Mainstreet as part of the state-wide mainstreet program designed to reinvigorate town centers in Mississippi.
