Candy Lee is an award winning, “golden voiced” singer/songwriter who combines her love for folk, jazz, and indie music to create her own original style. The first thing you’ll notice when you hear Candy Lee is her voice: timeless, entrancing, and ethereal. She pulls you in with her sweet, catchy melodies and moving music, but it is her smart, creative lyrics that deserve a second listen. When she plays with her full band, Candy Lee & The Sweets, the band helps to create a more funky and psychedelic sound, which sets the mood for the main attraction of sultry three part female vocal harmonies.
Candy Lee is the 2011 Northwest Arkansas Music Award Winner for Best Female Singer/Songwriter and Best Female Vocalist in a Band. Her debut album, The Gate, which features members of the Sweets, was also nominated for Album of the Year. She was recently a finalist for the Song of Arkansas Contest, for her song, “Here in Arkansas.” Candy Lee and the Sweets recently played to a sold-out crowd at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, Ark. She released her newest album, Human Conditions, in March of 2014, for which a segment was recently recorded on KUAF’s Ozarks at Large.
