How did you get into cooking? I got a job at a restaurant in the front of the house and wasn’t very good at it, so they put me in the kitchen.
What is the best thing about your job? I love the chaos of a kitchen.
Who is your favorite cook/chef? Besides Johnny Kirk, Susan Spicer from New Orleans. Maybe it’s just the name, I don’t know.
What kitchen tool/utensil could you not live without? A chinois.
What is your favorite ingredient? Salt.
Name three items in your fridge: Almond milk, cheese dip, cotton candy grapes.
Where do you get your best recipe ideas? Using a basic technique on a new product.
What is the best meal you’ve ever eaten? A margherita pizza off the coast of Australia.
What is the weirdest meal you’ve ever eaten? Pickles soaked in Koolaid.
Personal specialties: I’m great at soccer. Meet me at Lamar Park at 9 am.
Favorite midnight snack: Cookies.
Favorite kitchen music: Old school R&B is my favorite, but my music varies from open to close.
Who would you most like to cook for and what would you prepare? My mom. Probably pasta.
Where do you like to dine in Oxford? I’m looking for the best pizza in Oxford currently. Saint Leo, maybe.
Favorite restaurant in the world: Alinea.
