Do you want to experience a night of French wines and dishes? On Wednesday, October 16, City Grocery in Oxford will offer a special dining experience in collaboration with renowned wine distributor Kermit Lynch. This special night promises a five-course meal handcrafted by City Grocery’s Chef Jon Davis, a.k.a. “JD,” paired with a selection of fine French wines.
City Grocery general manager Jennifer Nelson Pascoe shared that the wine selection process was thoroughly hand-picked when planning the evening. “We wanted to take guests on a journey through France’s wine regions,” she said. “After tasting the wines, we noted what foods might pair well and handed it over to Chef JD to design the menu.”
Chef JD was excited about the opportunity to create dishes that complement such fine wines. “Kermit Lynch’s portfolio allows us to pair their wines with various menu items, from Mushroom Conserva to Pescado Frito,” he said. “The wines were chosen first, and then my sous chef, Mat Wandell, and I brainstormed some of our favorite French dishes that would go well with the selected wines.”
One of Pascoe’s favorite wines introduced is Kuentz Bas Alsace Blanc, a crisp and refreshing wine that Pascoe is particularly excited to reintroduce. “It’s a rare gem, and we’re thrilled to share it with our guests,” she noted.
The Kermit Lynch wine dinner promises to be an unforgettable experience. For $140 per person, attendees will be treated to a culinary journey that celebrates the best of France’s wine regions. Don’t miss out! Tickets are limited for this exclusive event. Reserve your spot here. Take your chance to enjoy a unique evening of wine and food in the lovely town of Oxford.
