Latest online educational offerings funded by MAC Rapid Response grant
Delta Blues Museum is expanding its educational offerings online to include three new Virtual Tours, produced by Mississippi filmmaker Coop Cooper and available online later this month. Each video will feature a new tour “guide” inside the Museum, and each guide will offer their insight into a different Blues artist. Mississippi musicians Jimbo Mathus and Christone “Kingfish” Ingram along with Arts & Education instructor John Holmes will serve as guides for the new tours.
The latest videos are being underwritten by the Mississippi Arts Commission (MAC) Rapid Response grant program. MAC Rapid Response grants were created to support small-scale arts activities in Mississippi communities and to adapt artistic focused work in an online setting. These funds are part of an expanded version of MAC’s Minigrants program, designed to assist with the urgent needs of art organizations amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
This project is supported in part by funding from MAC, a state agency, and in part from the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency. All of Delta Blues Museum’s virtual tours are free to the public and accessible online at https://www.deltabluesmuseum.org/field-trip-tour.aspx
Virtual Tour viewer donations are suggested and appreciated.
