VisitOxford made their big Double Decker Festival reveal of the poster design, music lineup, and more.
The poster design is by Oxford artist Sarah Kathryn Dossett of Studio Whimzy. The artwork features staples of the Square including Proud Larry’s, the red phone booth, and of course the double decker bus.
This year offers one of the most well-rounded lineups in the history of the festival. Friday features Liz Brasher, Thacker Mountain Radio Hour, and headliners The Delta Saints, a prominent Nashville indie-rock band.
“Really excited about them,” said Thacker Mountain Radio Hour Executive Producer Kate Teague. “Their most recent album, Monte Cristo, was produced by Jeff Spears of Third Man Records who has worked with Jack White, Chris Stapleton, and many others. We’re really excited about the lineup and setting a great precedent for the weekend.”
Saturday’s music lineup is stacked from start to finish with established and rising acts. Sharde Thomas Rising Star Frife and Drum kicks the day off at 10:15 am and the music doesn’t stop until 10 pm with Cold War Kids taking the stage at 8:30 pm.
The Double Decker Spring Run is back again this year on Saturday and offers a 5k as well as a 10k race. With last year’s featuring over 1500 racers, the 2018 marathon is expected to be even bigger. Those interested in participating can sign up here.
Double Decker Festival will take place April 27–28 at Oxford’s historic Square and annually features over 100 food and art vendors.
