Brett Young, former Ole Miss baseball player, took home the Academy of Country Music Award for New Male Vocalist of the Year. Young got the news from the legendary Reba McEntire while on his tour bus in Florida. A video of Young’s conversation was posted to ACM’s Facebook page.
The award announcement came ahead of the televised ceremony on April 15 broadcasting on CBS at 7 pm CST.
