Imagine Me
By JoLynn Wells
Imagine me a river
With an inlet just for two
Where grass grows green and lithe
And small stones wait for tossing
Imagine me a cozy island
With salt imprinted in our hair
Where laughter giggles throughout the day
And teeth glint like diamonds in the sun
Imagine me an igloo
With breath white in purple gray light
Where our hoods of fur join hands
And damp noses nuzzle each other
Imagine me a field
With birds dancing among the flowers
Where smiles are sprinkled with dandelions
And Pan prances and plays his pipe
Imagine me a beach
With sand clinging to our toasted skin
Where flesh is warm and hearts warmer
And toes dance between the grains
Imagine me a treehouse in the rain
With trap doors to save us from the pelting drops
Where floorboards creak and dampen
And water slides into our smiling kisses
Imagine you beside me
Where wishes turn true
Imagine you beside me
And imagine me alongside you
