James Randall Davis, 53, died Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, Mississippi.
Born in Seward, Alaska, Mr. Davis had lived in Oxford since 1993. He was a graduate of Oxford High School and the University of Mississippi. He was a real estate developer and broker. Having attended flight school at the U.S. Army Aviation Center at Ft. Rucker, AL, he flew planes and helicopters. A discriminating outdoorsman, Mr. Davis enjoyed many outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, and duck hunting. Some of his more memorable hunting trips were dove hunting in South America and going on safari in Africa.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 3, 2013, 5:00 pm-7:00 pm at Coleman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 4, 2013, at 11:00 am in the Coleman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Isaac Jenkins, III officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Coleman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include two daughters, Jamie Davis of Brandon, Mississippiand Corley Beth Davis of Oxford, Mississippi; his parents, James E. “Jim” and Bernece Davis of Oxford, Mississippi; two brothers, Kendall Davis of Oxford, Mississippi and Michael Lee Davis of Brandon, Mississippi; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
