The final concert of the season for the L-O-U Symphony is at 7:30 p.m. on April 27th in the Gertrude Ford Center for the Performing Arts. The concert features a variety of music – from the youthful brilliance of Beethoven’s Prometheus Overture to the elegant and colorful ballet music of the 18th century French master Jean Phillippe Rameau; from the reflective delicacy of the English Impressionist Frederick Delius to the power of the Russian Sailor’s Dance by the Ukranian composer, Reinhold Gliere.
This will be Ronald Vernon‘s final conducting performance as the director of the LOU Symphony. Please join us in showing our appreciation for Dr. Vernon who is retiring after 43 years of service to this university. From 1986 to 1996 he served as chair of the Department of Music.
