Coleman Funeral Home names Roberts pre-planning specialist
Mike Roberts, owner of Roberts Insurance Agency, has added coverage for funeral expenses to his service lines for the local community.
Roberts was recently named a pre-planning specialist for Coleman Funeral Home. His role includes counseling families through the process of purchasing and planning funeral services in advance.
The new partnership expands his services through Roberts Insurance Agency. Roberts founded his insurance company in 2008 and has focused primarily on employed benefits.
“I know first-hand how important pre-planning is for every family,” said Roberts, who with his wife, Ashley, buried three parents over the course of just three years. None had planned ahead with funeral planning or insurance.
“It was extremely tough, both financially and emotionally,” Roberts said. “The grieving process was only made harder with these added responsibilities. By working with Coleman Funeral Home, I can help other people navigate the practical side of the pre-planning process and avoid unnecessary stress for their families in the future.”
Glenn Coleman, co-owner and funeral director, said the Coleman Funeral Home helps people make arrangements in advance to whatever extent they are comfortable with.
“Some people come to us with very detailed plans that they have put a lot of thought into,” he said. “Others are mainly focused on paying for services in advance, so that their family doesn’t have to worry about it later. Either way, it will be a measure of comfort for them in their time of grief.”
Roberts says his years of experience in helping people choose and understand their insurance-benefit packages will translate well into funeral insurance.
“In both situations, we remove elements of stress from the situation and help our clients navigate the practical side of things,” he said. “We provide families with the security of knowing there is a plan in place should the worst happen.”
A native of Oxford, Roberts has served for eight years as District 5 Supervisor on the Lafayette County Board of Supervisors. He is an avid outdoorsman and a member of First Baptist Church of Oxford. He and his wife have two children, Emma Hayes and Max.
