Today the Mississippi Department of Health (MSDH) is reporting 825 new cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and 37 new deaths. Mississippi’s total of COVID-19 cases since March 11 now stands at 71,755, with 2,080 deaths.
Currently there are 963 Mississippians hospitalized with confirmed COVID-19 infection. There are currently 176 people hospitalized for suspected COVID-19.
63 of the new cases reported today were among residents in long-term care facilities with 21 deaths in long-term care, and there are now 179 active outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities (where an outbreak is one or more cases among residents or staff).
