Today the Mississippi Department of Health (MSDH) is reporting 2,283 new cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and 42 new deaths. Mississippi’s total of COVID-19 cases since March 11 now stands at 172,955, with 4,083 deaths.
Currently there are 1,166 Mississippians hospitalized with confirmed COVID-19 infection. There are currently 301 people hospitalized in intensive care for confirmed COVID-19.
There are 209 active outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities (where an outbreak is one or more cases among residents or staff). There are 100 new long-term care cases and 22 new long-term care deaths.
