Malco Theatres opened a 12-screen theatre in Olive Branch, Mississippi on Friday, December 20, 2013.
The Olive Branch Cinema, located at 6430 Goodman Road near West Hamilton Circle in Olive Branch, will present moviegoers an ultra-modern theatre and in a Malco design-first, a completely visible projection booth, allowing patrons to “see” the digital equipment in action.
Malco’s signature upscale lobby will showcase a uniquely tranquil custom-designed water wall, innovative skylights and a cinema lounge, complete with fireplace and sitting area. The theatre will also sport all-stadium seating with luxurious oversized seats, state-of-the-art Dolby 7.1 digital surround sound & 3D projection, wall-to-wall curved screens and a video arcade. An expanded concession menu is set to include traditional movie theatre snacks of fresh-popped Orville Redenbacher popcorn, a wide assortment of candy, nachos and Pretzel Haus pretzels, as well as Pronto Pups, Funnel Cake Fries, chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks and buffalo chicken bites. Additional amenities such as reloadable gift cards, birthday parties, group discounts (select days and times), corporate rentals and worship space will also be available. For added customer convenience, lobby kiosks will allow for online/advance ticketing redemption, so patrons can “skip the box office line”.
As the main anchor in a planned development by Michael Lightman, future site development will include Corky’s BBQ, other restaurants and retail establishments complimentary to the moviegoing experience.
“Our Olive Branch Cinema represents the newest in design and state of the art technical presentation,” said Jimmy Tashie, Executive VP of Theatre Operations. “Malco has made a significant financial investment in Olive Branch and we believe the new state of art cinema will provide a first class movie going experience for the community to enjoy for many decades to come.”
Malco recently completed the renovation of the Ridgeway Cinema Grill (formerly the Ridgeway Four Cinema) in Memphis and the Forest Hill Cinema in Germantown, Tennessee. Additional locations are slated to open in Gonzales, LA; Winchester, KY; Millington, TN; and Jackson, TN, along with several unannounced locations.
