Today the Mississippi Department of Health (MSDH) is reporting just 192 new cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and only two new deaths. Mississippi’s total of COVID-19 cases since March 11 now stands at 97,049, with 2,921 deaths.
Currently there are 426 Mississippians hospitalized with confirmed COVID-19 infection. There are currently 133 people hospitalized in intensive care for confirmed COVID-19.
There are now 124 active outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities (where an outbreak is one or more cases among residents or staff). There are 21 new long-term care cases and 2 new long-term care deaths.
