Albert, better known to his loved ones and friends as Al, was born on May 17, 1949 in Charleston, South Carolina to the late Robin O. Cotten and Ramona Stockton Cotten.
Throughout his life, Al was always such a caring and giving individual. He proudly served his country for 6 years in the Army National Guard. In his next chapter of life, he worked tirelessly as a salesman in many industries, his longest being in the furniture industry. He was an extremely hard worker and provided for his family. He was an amazing husband to his beloved wife, E.J., and he loved his entire family fiercely.
Al was also known to be the life of the party. He always had a way of bringing joy to others, and he always made it a goal to get as many laughs out of others as he could. Whether it was keeping up with others on Facebook or having his friends and family over at his house, he always made sure to check on and keep up with those he loved.
Al had a passion for being outdoors, and he loved nothing more than being with his friends and family on the pontoon boat or around a fire in the afternoon. He truly left his mark this world, and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Albert is survived by his wife, Earmel Rogers Cotten of Oxford; his son, Al Cotten II and his wife Michelle of Oxford; his three daughters, Ramona Cotten of Oxford, Raygan E. Mottz of Hammond, Louisiana, and Rachel Mottz of Pope, Mississippi; his two grandsons, Sidney Cotten and Joseph Henry Cotten, both of Oxford; his great-grandson, Asa St. Romain of Louisiana; and a host of siblings, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Albert is preceded in death by his parents, Robin O. Cotten, and Ramona Stocken Cotten.
