The University of Mississippi will host the 24th annual Celebration of Spring in Music and Poetry at the Paris-Yates Chapel, Sunday March 26, at 3 p.m.
Oxford’s own Mockingbird Early Music Ensemble will celebrate the arrival of spring, the birth of Johann Sebastian Bach, and the Baha’i new year with music of Bach, Georg Philipp Telemann, and others performed on period instruments, interspersed with poems about spring and love.
The Mockingbird Early Music Ensemble was formed in 2003 by enthusiastic proponents of the historically informed presentation of music created before 1750.
Admission to the Celebration of Spring in Music and Poetry is free.
