2023 Georgia Bulldogs Recap
Georgia ran the table during the regular season last year, going 12-0, including a 52-17 home win over Ole Miss. The Bulldogs fell 27-24 in the SEC Championship game to Alabama and just missed out on the College Football Playoff as a result. UGA closed its season at 13-1 after throttling Florida State, 63-3, in the Capital One Orange Bowl.
2024 Georgia Snapshot
Georgia opened the 2024 season with dominant wins over Clemson and Tennessee Tech before a near-upset in a 13-12 road win at Kentucky. The Bulldogs then found themselves trailing Alabama 28-0 before roaring back to take a 34-33 lead, ultimately falling 41-34 in an instant classic in Tuscaloosa. UGA is unbeaten since, including a win two weeks ago over then-No. 1 Texas in Austin.
Three Players to Watch: Ole Miss
- Trey Amos – Georgia quarterback Carson Beck leads the SEC and is tied for fourth nationally with 11 interceptions thrown on the season. Trey Amos is tied for second in the league with three INTs.
- Jaxson Dart – When Jaxson Dart has time, he’s one of college football’s most dangerous quarterbacks. After a record outing at Arkansas, will the Rebel QB step up again?
- Antwane Wells Jr. – Jordan Watkins had his breakout game last week at Arkansas—is it Juice Wells’ turn? He caught a TD pass vs. UGA in his final game at South Carolina in 2023.
Three Players to Watch: Georgia
- Carson Beck – Carson Beck is one of the nation’s most talented quarterbacks but has struggled with ball security this season. Can he avoid costly miscues against the talented Rebel defense?
- Jalon Walker – Teams’ effectiveness at pressuring Jaxson Dart has been key against Ole Miss this season. Walker is UGA’s top pass rusher with 4.5 sacks and six QB hurries this season.
- Trevor Etienne – Trevor Etienne is seventh in the SEC in rushing touchdowns and eighth in rushing yards per game. The Rebels will need to limit UGA’s top playmaker.
