Ole Miss baseball landed in the top 15 in a preseason poll for the fourth time ahead of the 2019 season, earning a No. 13 ranking from Baseball America.
The Rebels are one of six Southeastern Conference teams in the top 15. Eight SEC squads in total made the Baseball America rankings.
Ole Miss will take on eight teams ranked in Baseball America’s preseason poll: No. 2 LSU (May 3-5), No. 4 Florida (April 5-7), No. 9 Mississippi State (May 10-12), No. 11 Louisville (March 12-13), No. 12 East Carolina (March 6), No. 17 Auburn (April 18-20), No. 18 Arkansas (March 29-31) and No. 21 Southern Miss (April 9, May 1).
Florida, Mississippi State and East Carolina will all come to Swayze Field, while the Rebels must travel to play LSU, Louisville, Auburn, Arkansas and Southern Miss. Ole Miss will also meet MSU and USM at Trustmark Park in Pearl, Mississippi, for neutral site battles.
As the Rebels take on a challenging road, they’ll do so with seven returning starters on the SEC’s best offense from a season ago. They’re the only team in the conference to return seven players on offense who started 48 or more games last season. Ole Miss will have to replace three MLB Draft picks on the mound, including first-rounder Ryan Rolison, but a wealth of new young arms have lined up to fill the void.
