On July 26, 2021, the Oxford Police Department received a report of someone stealing a boat from a residence in the 400 block of Hathorn Road. The reporting party was able to obtain a picture of the vehicle that stole the boat.
Later that night, OPD officers were able to find the truck that stole the boat.
Brandon Metts, 36, of Oxford, Mississippi was arrested and charged with Grand Larceny.
A Lafayette County Justice Court judge issued Metts a $10,000 bond.
The Oxford Police Department is housed 715 Molly Barr Road. The department has more than 70 full-time officers and staff and provides a wide range of protection and enforcement services.
