The Oxford Piano Trio, consisting of music faculty Robert Riggs, violin, Susan Gaston, cello, and Stacy Rodgers, piano, will perform an eclectic and exciting program, featuring Arvo Pärt‘s reverent Mozart-Adagio, Paul Schoenfield‘s jazz-, blues-, and ragtime-inspired Café Music, and Camille Saint-Saëns richly romantic Quartet Op. 41 for Piano and Strings with special guest violist Yan Mao.
Founded in 1988, the Oxford Piano Trio has performed well over seventy works from the repertoire for this instrumental combination, and further enriched their repertoire by premiering new works and searching out intriguing compositions with stylistic “crossover” from popular music. They have been heard by audiences throughout the United States, Germany, and Canada.
