The Oxford School District proudly celebrates the remarkable legacy of Denny Tosh — a longtime board member and, most recently, President of the Oxford School District Board of Trustees — as he concludes 16 years of service.
Mr. Tosh served two impactful terms: first from May 2009 to December 2014 and again from March 2020 to February 2025 — leaving a lasting legacy of contributions that helped shape the district’s growth and development in numerous ways.
From facility updates to expanding education programs, his leadership played an important role in enhancing the academic and extracurricular experiences for all students in the Oxford School District.
During his service, the district achieved many major milestones and initiatives, including:
- Building the OHS softball field (2009)
- Renovating the former Oxford High School into the current Oxford Middle School
- Building the current Oxford High School
- Hiring two superintendents during his tenure
- Passing two major bond referendums
- Realigning the district’s grade-spans to its current system
- Building a new Career & Technical Education (CTE) facility and expanding CTE programs
- Developing the Oxford Athletic Performance building to expand athletic facility
- Classroom expansions at Bramlett Elementary and Della Davidson Elementary
- Building a state-of-the-art soccer facility
“If there was ever anyone that lives out the mantra [Charger For Life], it’s Denny Tosh,” said Bradley Roberson, Superintendent of the Oxford School District. “You can’t go to an Oxford School District event, home or away, without seeing Denny there. That includes athletic events, choir and orchestra concerts, band concerts, plays, etc. He truly loves this district and has ever since he walked the halls of Oxford High School. Thank you, Denny, for your leadership and friendship. It has been an honor to work alongside you.”
As Mr. Tosh’s time on the school board has come to an end, his connection to the Oxford School District remains strong. As a parent, two of his children have graduated from the district, with one still enrolled.
We extend a very heartfelt thank you to Mr. Tosh for 16 years of dedication and wish him all the best! #ChargerForLife
