The Oxford School District (OSD) is pleased to welcome Denson Hollis to the Oxford School District Board of Trustees.
A long time Oxford resident and parent to three daughters who attend OSD schools, Mr. Hollis brings both a personal insight and strong leadership experience to his new position as a school board member.
“As a parent of lower school-aged children, I have a personal stake in ensuring our schools provide the best foundation for our youngest learners. Representing these age groups on the board was a major factor in my decision to get involved. I’m excited to serve and look forward to tapping into my community, state, and national relationships to help OSD continue to excel and create even greater opportunities for all our students,” Mr. Hollis said.
Mr. Hollis serves as the Chief Executive Officer – Sr. Associate Athletics Director of Development for the Ole Miss Athletics Foundation, where he leads all fundraising and development operations for the Ole Miss Athletics Foundation.
Beyond his professional career, Mr. Hollis has been an active volunteer and supporter of Oxford schools. He has served on the OSD Bond Committee, as a board member of the Oxford School District Foundation, and as fundraising chair for both the CES and OIS Parent-Teacher Organizations (PTOs).
In his letter to the Mayor and City Board of Alderman, he expressed his motivation to serve, “As the world continues to change around us, I feel called to do my part to make sure we protect the areas of lives that we cherish most. Of these, nothing is more important than the education system for our children.”
The Oxford School District looks forward to the leadership and insight Mr. Hollis will bring to the Board of Trustees and is confident he will play a key role in supporting the district’s commitment to student success and continuous improvement.
