Louisiana/Mississippi sculptor and painter, Ed Millet, will be visiting the Oxford Treehouse Gallery during the week of September 25–October 1, 2017. The reception will be on Friday, September 30 from 5–8 pm. A large collection of Millet’s paintings will also be available for purchase at our gallery within the Gallery, The Roost.
During the week, Millet will be on Oxford Treehouse Gallery grounds collaborating with Walter Neill to enhance the sculptural presence throughout the property.
Ed Millet’s background in sculpture informs his evolution into the 2D world. His process is more like a sculptor’s: carving out shapes and arranging them with the intent to foster a suggested lyricism and poetics. He describes this work as “non-representational, Neo-Geo Abstract Formalism…it’s a pure and direct approach dealing with the essential art elements of composition, color, form/space and expression.”
Oxford Treehouse Gallery is proud to have the opportunity to display Millet’s work and to have him in the Gallery. A goal of Oxford Treehouse Gallery is to share this space with other artists and to provide the public with a fine art experience in an unconventional gallery setting in beautiful Lafayette County, MS.
The reception for Ed Millet will be on Friday, September 30th from 5-8 p.m. Oxford Treehouse Gallery hours are Thursday–Saturday 12-6 pm and happily by appointment.
