Insurify, an online car insurance shopping platform, recently announced the winners of their Greenest City Awards and named Oxford the greenest city in Mississippi.
To create the list of winners, Insurify’s data scientists analyzed over 1.5 million vehicles input into their site by auto insurance shoppers. We analyzed factors including fuel efficiency, engine type, annual miles driven, commuting patterns, and count of cars per household. The resulting list identifies the five communities in each state with the lowest average environmental impact score.
“Statistics show that vehicles represent one of the single greatest sources of polluting emissions in the United States, so your award shows the world that Oxford is having a meaningful positive impact on the environment,” said Richard Knapp, Partnerships Director of Insurify.
