On February 20, 2025 the Oxford Police Department responded to the 2700 block of South Lamar Boulevard to take a delayed auto theft report. The responding officer was able to locate video footage of the incident and used it to identify the suspect. The suspect was identified as Kylann Vance, 20, of Rienzi, Mississippi.
An arrest warrant was issued for Vance for Auto Burglary. On February 21st, an officer with the Oxford Police Department conducted a traffic stop and identified Vance. Vance was then arrested and taken into custody without incident on the aforementioned warrant.
Vance was taken before a Municipal Court judge for his initial bond hearing.
