Sources reported this morning that Shelter on Van Buren had ceased operations. Co-owner Lee Bowie has confirmed that the coffee shop, restaurant, and venue will be closing down.
“We are in the process of closing, but still have a few shows this week,” said Bowie.
As a venue, Shelter was one of the few in town available to artists not yet established, as well as touring acts that were not able to book at Proud Larrys’. This will be a blow to the already few options for musicians in town.
The last day of operation will be Saturday. In the meantime you can still catch three more shows on Van Buren.
1/5 Welcome Home, The Ellie Badge, Peyton Dixie
