Alex Cortes with An Army of Normal Folks will host a conversation with Bishop W.C. Martin, the inspiration for Angel Studio’s latest film Sound of Hope, on September 3 at 6 pm at The Powerhouse.
Martin rallied his small black church of 200 people to help the orphans in their community and 22 of their families adopted 77 kids.
According to a press release about Sound of Hope, America has 115,000 orphans and 400,000 houses of worship. “If someone in only one out of every three houses of worship adopts an orphan, there would be no orphans in America.
“You don’t have to be a member of a religion to adopt a child, but this frame of reference gives an idea of just how solvable our country’s problems are,” the press release continued.
Alex Cortes, the executive producer of An Army of Normal Folks, will lead a conversation with Martin for 30-45 minutes followed by a question and answer session.

An Army of Normal Folks is hosted by Oscar-winner & Ole Miss alum Coach Bill Courtney. Courtney believes “our country’s problems will never be solved by a bunch of fancy people in nice suits talking big words on CNN and Fox, but by An Army of Normal Folks just deciding ‘Hey, I can help.’”
