The Los Angeles-based quintet Young the Giant manages to rehash familiar topics from fresh angles. While radio-friendly Billboard Hot 100 hits like “Cough Syrup” and “My Body” from the band’s self-titled debut put them on the map in 2011, it’s evident that the group isn’t content pumping out material that is easy to label.
“In a world where people want to put a specific artist—or anything, for that matter—into a box because it’s easier to digest or understand, we don’t fit those boxes,” says Gadhia. “And we never have.”
Following their debut self-titled album release last year, Sure Sure just put out bright new tracks “Warm Animal,” “Idiot” & “Lie Lie Lie,” which is already being played on KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic and SiriusXM’sAlt Nation.Ever since their 2016 single “New Biome” caught fire on Spotify, the band now has over 14 million total Spotify plays and reached #1 on the Hype Machine charts. They also recently made their national television debut, performing on the ESPYs Red Carpet on ESPN.
