Are you a big piano fan? Well, some of Oxford’s finest piano players are uniting for a one-night-only event hosted by Bill Perry, Jr. called “The Oxford Piano Summit” live at Proud Larry’s on November 12th. The show will feature some of this town’s favorite pianists, including: Robert Chaffe (Kudzu Kings), Mark Yacovone (Yalobushwackers), Aaron Hall, Holley Peel (originally from the Delta, but a town favorite), Eric Carlton (Jimbo Mathus, Rocket 88), Damein Wash (Soultones), and Bill Perry, Jr. (Bill Perry Trio, Fadetoblaq).
Nate Robbins (bass) and Zechariah Tillotson (drums) will be providing a rhythm section for some of the piano players.
You can expect solo and duo sets from all these great players, with various styles to keep things interesting. Expect to hear some jazz, blues, rock, soul, funk, and many styles in between! If you ever wanted to hear all these ivory ticklers under one roof, this will be the night to do so.
Who knows, they may even take requests.
