The Yoknapatawpha Arts Council (YAC) is partnering with the national comedy initiative, Don’t Tell Comedy, to host a distinctive comedy event in Oxford on Friday, April 11th, at 8 pm (doors open at 7:30 pm). Renowned for organizing secretive shows in unconventional venues, Don’t Tell Comedy has captivated audiences in over 150 cities nationwide.
Each performance typically lasts between 70 to 90 minutes, depending on audience engagement. Attendees must be 21 or older, and seating operates on a first-come, first-served basis. To ensure groups can sit together, it’s advisable to arrive together and on time. The secret venue’s address will be emailed to ticket holders at 8:00 am on the day of the show.
YAC’s Executive Director, Wayne Andrews, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration: “We wanted this opportunity as it not only brought a national touring show to the community but they asked us to help find local comics and a unique space for the performance.”
Tickets for the April 11th show are available through the Yoknapatawpha Arts Council’s website. Given the secretive nature of the event and the popularity of Don’t Tell Comedy performances, early purchase is recommended.
